  About the LTEA

The Lesotho Textile Exporters Association (LTEA) was established in 1993 as a "friendly society" under Lesotho's Friendly Societies Act (1996) and registered with Lesotho's Registrar of Trade Unions and Employer Associations as an employer association in 2002. It represents the majority of manufacturers in the country.

Objectives

  • To provide the industry with a common voice on issues affecting it.
  • To promote Lesotho textile and garment products in the region and internationally.
  • To work with members to build the industry's reputation as a responsible sourcing destination.

The LTEA represents the industry at a national, regional and international level. It liaises with various government departments as well as participating in bodies such as the African Cotton and Textiles Industries Federation (ACTIF), the Multi-Fibre Arrangement Forum and the AGOA Forum, and engaging with multinational institutions such as World Bank, International Finance Corporation, International Money Fund and the International Labour Organization.

The association can arrange buyer visits to Lesotho and provide information for buyers, the media and any other interested parties.
